Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

Wage Payment: Employee rights include:- Pay for employment all earnings made (INFO # 3) at the rate accepted by the employer and employee.
– Pay of at least minimum wage (INFO # 1), the relevant Colorado or local base pay, and all made overtime incomes without impermissible reductions from their incomes;.
– Pay of all made salaries without impermissible deductions (INFO # 16).
Labor Statutes, Rules, & Published Guidance
Statutes & Rules: DLSS enforces much of Colorado’s wage and hour and other kinds of labor statutes and labor guidelines, including the Colorado Wage Act, the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards ( » COMPS Order »), and the Equal Spend For Equal Work Act. Please go to the Division’s Labor Statutes and Labor Rules web pages for present and prior variations of key Colorado labor statutes and rules.
Published Guidance: The Division’s main types of public guidance are:- INFOs (Interpretive Notices and Formal Opinions) – the Division’s officially authorized notices, viewpoints, employment and descriptions on various labor law subjects; and.
– KNOWLEDGEs (Knowledge for Workers on Labor Law is Empowering & Drives Good Employment) one-page summaries for employees on their labor rights.
Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations
Demands & Complaints for Wages: If an employer owes you salaries, you can send your company a written demand for payment of incomes by mail, email, text, or other electronic ways. A written demand might be sent to the company at the same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unsettled earnings is filed with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be found on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page.
Employer Responses in Investigations: employment Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and examined, a letter explaining the nature of the problem and the quantities declared to be owed is sent out to the company. Investigations Launched by the Division ( » Direct Investigations »): The Division might carry out employer-wide direct investigations of prospective violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you want to submit a pointer, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you would like to file a private claim for unsettled wages, you need to fill out a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and employment Settlements webpage. To appeal a direct examination citation or employment one or more Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer might submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
