US congressional offices have been cautioned versus setting up the Chinese AI app DeepSeek, Axios reported on Thursday, pointing out a notification released by the chief administrative officer of the US House of Representatives.

According to Axios, the notification stated, « At this time, DeepSeek is under review by the CAO and is presently unauthorized for main House use. »

The development of DeepSeek, a low-priced Chinese AI design, has raised issues about its prospective to challenge the market supremacy of US-based AI giants like OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.

Recently, DeepSeek presented a complimentary AI assistant that it claims operates with lower data use and at a portion of the cost of US models. Within days, it became one of the most downloaded app on Apple’s App Store, fueling fret about US leadership in AI. This advancement contributed to a market shake-up that around $1 trillion in worth from US tech stocks.
